Garcia began her studies with Texas Christain University, where she spent two years studying before switching to University of Texas. While at the university she was able to compete on a greater size and develop her abilities as time went by. Angela Akin Garcia, despite her happiness and fulfillment as a professional golfer, had no intention about pursuing a career in the field. She instead opted to study the field of journalism. Her first position came up following her graduation as an Fox Sports Southwest Reporter.
